Even though no one is travelling in the east or west direction, both north and south are forced to stop. This can be very annoying, especially when 2 trains pass by one after another. This intersection can build up quite a deal of traffic and only makes matters worse when the green light unleashes the traffic on the subsequent traffic lights in either direction.
